Poras T. Balsara

Poras T. Balsara was born in Bombay, India. He is an ordained priest in the Zoroastrian faith.  He has served as a Zoroastrian priest in the North Texas area since 1989.   He is married to Pearl and has two kids, daughter, Farah and son, Burzin.  Pearl and Poras actively participate in the local multi-faith and multi-cultural activities in the D/FW area.

  Professionally,  Poras received the L.E.E. diploma in electronics from The
  Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute, Bombay, India in 1980 and the B.E.
  (electrical) degree from The University of Bombay, India in 1983. He
  received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Penn State University in
  1985 and 1989, respectively.
 
  He is currently a Professor of electrical engineering with the Erik
  Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science at The University
  of Texas at Dallas and is also associated with its Center for Integrated
  Circuits and Systems. His research interests include, VLSI Design, design of
  energy efficient digital circuits and systems, computer arithmetic,
  application-specific architecture design, and reconfigurable systems.
  He is a senior member of the IEEE.
